Changes on board | What's New at PawthosX
Product Update | October 2026
We've been busy making improvements across PawthosX, with a focus on simplifying clinical workflows, making information easier to access, and giving your team more control over how the platform works.
This update includes some significant additions to Chronicle, dental charting, scheduling, estimates, client communications, and more.
Introducing the Patient Context Bar
One of our biggest improvements is the new Patient Context Bar in Chronicle.
We're bringing more of the patient's information directly into the visit workspace, reducing the need to navigate between different screens.
Patient information at your fingertips: Access relevant medical information through interactive panels without leaving the visit.
Customisable context: Clinics can choose which information appears in the Context Bar.
Improved visit header: Recording status, visit tags, and assigned team members are now organised into a more compact header.
Faster AI workflows: Review and accept multiple AI-suggested items at once with the new Accept All option.
This is part of our ongoing effort to bring clinical information and workflows together in one place.
Dental Charting Comes to Flow
Dental charting is now integrated directly into the Flow visit workflow.
Document dental findings using the dedicated dental chart editor.
Access dental charting as part of the visit workflow, with built-in guidance.
Include dental charts in patient record exports and discharge documentation.
Dental charts are finalised as part of visit completion.
Our goal is to keep dental documentation connected to the rest of the patient's clinical record.
Scheduling & Appointments
We've made several improvements to appointment management.
Manual appointment confirmation: Confirm appointments directly from the appointment window.
Optional 48-hour confirmations: A new automation can request appointment confirmation 48 hours in advance. This is disabled by default until your clinic enables it.
Easier rebooking: Cancelled appointments now have a dedicated Rebook action.
Improved appointment protection: Completed, cancelled, and no-show appointments can no longer be accidentally moved or rescheduled. No-show status can also be reversed when needed.
Cleaner schedules: Clinics can choose whether to display rescheduled appointment indicators.
We've also improved the layout of scheduling controls on smaller laptop screens.
Client Communications & Forms
More flexibility for how and when you communicate with clients.
Send Later: Schedule client text messages and emails to be sent at a later date or time.
Forms from the visit: Send client forms directly from the visit's Forms section.
Smarter questionnaires: Build forms with follow-up questions that appear based on previous answers.
SMS consent: Record client messaging consent directly from the Send Form window.
We've also corrected an issue where internal appointment cancellation notes could appear in client-facing cancellation emails.
Estimates, Treatment Plans & Documents
Several improvements give your team more flexibility when preparing estimates and communicating costs.
Discounts and price adjustments: Apply discounts and price overrides to treatment plans, with changes recorded in the audit history.
Clinic disclaimers: Create reusable disclaimers and terms, including date-based display rules.
Signed treatment plan terms: Present applicable terms to clients as part of the treatment plan approval process.
Improved documents: Include clinic disclaimers on treatment plans, invoices, receipts, and discharge PDFs.
Patient photos: A new clinic document layout supports patient photos on invoices, receipts, and estimates.
We've also improved consistency between printed treatment plans and their downloaded or emailed PDF versions, including the way discounts are reflected.
Billing, Inventory & Prescriptions
We've made additional improvements to inventory management, dispensing, and billing accuracy.
Flat-rate inventory pricing: Additional pricing flexibility for inventory items.
More accurate dispensing: Improved billing for medications dispensed from multiple inventory lots and for fractional quantities.
Retail inventory tracking: Retail stock quantities now update when sales are issued and when transactions are voided or reverted.
Dispensing fee overrides: Custom dispensing fees are retained when creating inventory items.
Written prescriptions: Additional prescription fields, signature support, page numbering, and improved document layout.
Additional Improvements & Fixes
We've also addressed several smaller issues across the platform, including:
More detailed descriptions for individual body condition scores.
Improved availability of inactive species and breeds for reactivation in Settings.
Better handling of appointment status changes and automation rules.
Corrections to invoice provider information, treatment plan pricing, and inventory pricing rules.
Improved reliability of autosaving when navigating away from a page.
Additional ezyVet migration support for overdue reminders and medication instructions.
We're continuing to improve PawthosX based on how teams use the platform every day.
Some changes are immediately visible, while others improve the reliability and consistency of the workflows you already use.
As always, we appreciate the feedback, suggestions, and bug reports that help us keep making PawthosX better.
