PawthosX is planning a paper record ingestion workflow for PawthosX One and Move to PawthosX, designed to help clinics bring scanned paper records into usable digital chart history.
This is not intended to be βmagic auto-conversion.β
It is planned as AI-assisted historical record recovery with human review, so clinics can move faster while still validating important medical information before it becomes part of the active chart.
Planned functionality includes:
Upload scanned paper records, PDFs, JPGs, PNGs, and multi-page record packets
Store the original source documents in the patient chart
Extract readable text from scanned records
Identify likely patient, client, visit dates, species, DOB, provider, and document type
Group pages that appear to belong to the same patient or visit
Match scanned records to existing patients when possible
Create review-ready draft records before anything is committed
Support human validation with confidence indicators
Preserve source links so extracted details can be traced back to the original document
Future planned capabilities may include:
Historical visit timeline reconstruction
Medication, vaccine, diagnosis, procedure, and vitals extraction
Batch migration mode for larger clinic conversions
Review queues for uncertain or low-confidence records
Progress tracking for large paper-heavy migrations
Attachment-only handling for records that do not need full structuring
This will help clinics:
Recover useful history from paper charts
Reduce manual data entry during migration
Preserve original documents for reference
Create cleaner patient timelines
Move paper-heavy clinics into PawthosX with less friction
Keep high-risk clinical information under human review
The goal is to make old records usable without pretending every scanned page should become structured medical data automatically.
Move to PawthosX should help clinics recover history, preserve trust, and bring paper records forward safely.
