What is Orville?
Orville is PawthosX’s ambient, voice-first clinical assistant built to help veterinary teams spend less time interacting with screens and more time focused on patients.

Orville extends PawthosX One into the physical hospital. Through supported voice hardware connected to the PawthosX local Node, teams can interact with PawthosX using natural voice commands throughout the clinical workflow.
Orville is designed to support tasks such as:
Starting and controlling clinical recordings
Assisting with ambient documentation
Retrieving relevant information from PawthosX One
Triggering approved workflows and actions
Helping teams navigate the clinical day without repeatedly returning to a workstation
Built around privacy and control
Orville is not intended to behave like an always-recording smart speaker.
Wake-word detection can remain available locally while Orville is in use, but clinical recording state is controlled through explicit commands. PawthosX is building Orville so that the clinic remains in control of when recording begins, pauses, resumes, or ends.
Orville operates through the PawthosX local Node, which serves as the local intelligence and connectivity layer between Orville and PawthosX One.

Orville is also available within PawthosX One as an assistant experience. In the application, Orville can accept typed or voice input while returning information through the interface rather than speaking clinical information aloud.
This allows the same assistant to work across exam rooms, treatment areas, workstations, and mobile devices while respecting the privacy requirements of each environment.
